Chocolate-Peanut Butter Smoothie

So I’ve been going to the gym/yoga a lot lately and looking to feed my muscles well after doing so.  The other day I went to a hot class at YYoga and decided to hit Body Energy on Davie afterwards for one of their tasty smoothies.  I am a sucker for the chocolate monkey, using chocolate almond milk, minus chocolate syrup and adding Vega Sport Performance Protein – Recovery (Side note: Hello hot pic of Brendan Brazier in the shower!).  Well, let me tell you, this combination rocks, and I really do feel like it feed my muscles and replenishes my energy after a rigorous workout.  Try it at home for a fraction of the price!

Ingredients:

1 banana

1-1/2 cups unsweetened chocolate almond milk

1/2 cup peanut butter

1-2 tablespoons maple syrup

3-4 ice cubes

1 serving of Vega Sport Performance Protein or your favourite vegan protein

Method:

Blend until smooth and enjoy right after your yoga/gym/run or whatever you do to stay happy and healthy :)

Yum! If you’re really into smoothies, you can also freeze your bananas while they are at the ripeness you like and stash in a container. They make the smoothie super frothy and cold. Just make sure you peel them first, and I always chop mine up so I don’t look like a perv if my friends look in my freezer.

LOL Jen, always with the suggestive comments. ;)

I was just reading about your falafel balls the other day…

I’ve had a similar one that’s really good with almond butter instead of peanut butter, regular almond milk or vanilla and agave nectar instead of maple syrup
